Pedro Ricardo Shepherd is a veteran educator and trade union leader with nearly four decades of experience in teaching, labour relations, and national leadership. His public life has been defined by advocacy, fairness, and service. A trained graduate teacher, Pedro has served as President of the Barbados Union of Teachers and First Vice President of the Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Associations of Barbados.

He currently serves as Assistant General Secretary of the Congress, advocating for workers’ rights and safe workplaces.

His leadership extends into youth development and national service through roles with the Young Democrats, Barbados Leaders Council, Rural Development Commission, and Barbados 4-H Foundation.

Pedro believes strongly in servant leadership and collaboration. Known for calm negotiation and principled advocacy, he brings steadiness and experience to public life.

He stands ready to serve St. Michael South East with integrity, balance, and commitment to people-first governance.
